Summer is avocado season. It seems that around this time the item is almost everywhere, and people are putting it on almost anything. From chips to sandwich, avocado and products made with avocado are no stranger to peoples eating habits. A new study is out now that may show avocados have more of a purpose then just adding flavor to something.
According to Reddit, avocados might actually help fight against Leukemia which is a form of cancer. They do this by targeting stem cells. This is all according to a study by Ricardo Guimarães BMG that was chronicled in Cancer Research. So next time you are out at a restaurant it might not hurt to add a little avocado to whatever you are eating.
I think we can all say goodbye to the old saying of an apple a day keeps the doctor away, and use the saying an avocado a day keeps the leukemia way. This of course will still have to go undergo more research. Don’t stuff your face with avocados just yet and think that it will guarantee you a cancer free life. Instead, acknowledge that these do have benefits, and that incorporating them into your diet might not be such a bad idea.
There’s no better time to try out avocados then right now when they are in season, and can be found almost everywhere that you set foot whether it’s restaurants or grocery stores.
