Can I eat out with friend and be diabetic?
Of course you can! You should plan ahead though. Look for restaurants that have heart-healthy items marked on their menus, and choose these items whenever possible. For more information click here.
Can diabetes cause long -term damage?
Yes. Untreated or poorly managed diabetes can lead to a number of complications. This is why proper glucose control and having a healthy diet is so important.
Do people with type 2 diabetes require insulin?
Type 2 diabetes is usually controlled by healthy eating and regular exercise; some people with type 2 diabetes may require tablets, while others may require insulin injections.
Can diabetes be prevented?
Research has shown that there are some ways of preventing type 2 diabetes, or at least delaying its onset. Lifestyle changes such as becoming more active (or staying active, if you already engage in regular physical activity) and making sure your weight stays in a healthy range are two ways to help ward off type 2 diabetes,
